July Favorites!

I’m probably going to say this every month, but holy crap did July fly by!! I’m not a big fan of how when you get older time goes by quicker… It’s not nice.

Anyway, here are my July favorites! Enjoy!

First Aid Beauty face mist. I was very skeptical on the whole face mist bandwagon, but boy oh boy am I glad that I got on it. It does feel like a princess product, but First Aid Beauty makes it so much more. I use it when I get out of the shower in the morning before I dry my hair, and with the light citrus/grapefruit scent it wakes me up and hydrates my skin! My dry patches that I have around my nose and cheeks, have completely vanished (and I have ¬†been using a moisturizer too but it just couldn’t get rid of those pesky dry patches!)! I am in love with this product and this brand too, their lip therapy is gold.

NARS Orgasm Lip Gloss. I. Am. Obsessed. This is the perfect summer color (though I think it is just the perfect color in general). The pink/orange/gold shimmer leaves your lips with the perfect warm glow without being too much or too sticky. If I’m not wearing my Baby Lips, I’m wearing this. It’s amazing, I can see why everyone loves this blush color and NARS in general. Definitely going to have to try more products from them (any recommendations?? This is the only product I’ve bought from them!) If you can, I would definitely swatch it or get it haha!

July Faves taning

The Australian Gold Spray Gel Sunscreen with Instant Bronzer and SPF 15. I spoke about this in my Beach Essentials post. But anytime I’ve gone out in the sun this month, I will grab this! It gives you the ability to get that lovely summer tan without burning before hand! If you haven’t tried this, I highly recommend!

July Faves sunnies

My final favorite, was in two posts before and now in another one haha! They are my H&M sunnies! For $7 how can you go wrong?? I’m obsessed, they are perfect for the summer and I have not been seen without them since I’ve bought them… No I don’t have a problem. Shh…

Well, that’s it! Those are the products I cannot live without this month! Have you tried any of these products before? What are your July Favorites?! Anything I should try? Also, please let me know what other NARS products I should try, I’m really at a loss but I really like the brand haha! Sorry, for all the questions, it’s lonely on the other side of the computer haha! Have a wonderful weekend!

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo

5 Product Face for Summer!

Hello lovelies! So, I have been so excited that you guys have started commenting and reading and enjoying this silly little blog! It means so much to me that people are reading this!

For today’s post, I got a comment saying I should use the Baby Lips Lip Gloss and do a summer makeup look with it. I think that is a lovely idea because I am slightly obsessed with makeup… If you haven’t noticed. But I decided to turn it into a 5 product only look! I love watching those video’s and reading those posts about looks done with only 5 products, I think it’s a fun challenge if you are someone who likes to add a lot of products and do tons of different looks but want to try to limit only 5 products! For me, it’s summer and I don’t want to be wearing a lot of things on my face because it’s hot. Who wants that?

Though I don’t know if this counts as summer make up look, but it’s been my everyday summer makeup look for when I go to work… If I’m not at work, you will not catch me wearing makeup haha! But this is the 5 things that I have been reaching for this summer when I am doing my makeup!

Product No.1!

Summer Makeup 1

Maybelline’s BB Cream in the shade “Light/Medium”. This is the blue cap one that has salicylic acid in it, to help with acne. Now, I don’t have bad acne or really any, I am very lucky and if anything I will have one maybe two spots every month or so. But I like this one because it has a little more coverage than the original pink cap one (though I have that one as well and love it just as much, some coverage is nice though haha).

Product No.2!

Summer Makeup 2

Maybelline’s Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Concealer in the shade “Fair’. Long name, great product. This is my third tube and I really enjoy it. It’s a great concealer, you can layer it up and it doesn’t crease or look cakey, or you can add a little while still getting good coverage and a little brightness under your eye!

Product No.3!

Summer Makeup 3

Loreal’s 12Hr. infallible The Super Slim Liquid Liner in “black”. I swear by this liner. I was not good at liquid liner until I bought this lovely thing. The felt tip gives you complete control to go as thin or thick as you want. It’s amazing, it changed my life and my eyes. It also takes forever to dry out, which is a plus.

Product No.4!

Summer Makeup 4

Lancome’s Hypnose Waterproof Mascara in “black”. I bought this a while ago, it was in my “Mini Sephora Haul” and I still haven’t made up my mind on it. I don’t hate it, but I am not sure I am in love with it. It does a great job at lengthening, holding a curl but it just doesn’t give enough volume for me. It’s a lovely mascara and being waterproof, surprisingly comes off with such ease, which is an absolute bonus. It stays in place all day and doesn’t smudge, flake or give you raccoon eyes. If volume isn’t your top priority then you adore this, if volume is, well it surely is build-able and does look very nice, I’d say give it a try if you’ve been eyeing it!

Product No.5!

Baby Lips open

You guessed it! Maybelline’s Baby Lips Lip Gloss in “A Wink of Pink”. Read my review, I have pretty much said everything there is about it haha! I love it, great color, not sticky, moisturizing, smells greats, etc. etc.!

So there it is! When I’m going to work this is what you’ll find on my face this summer! I don’t tend to wear a lot of makeup in general but when I do this is the stuff I am reaching for! On lighter days, I’ll tend to just pop on my concealer (my dark circles are my enemy and they know it) and mascara and call it a day! Let me know if you want me to continue doing more “5 Product Face!” posts, maybe I can do one for each season! If there is anything else you want me to post about, leave me a comment!!

Have a great rest of your week! The weekend is almost here!!

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo

Summer 2015 Beach Essentials!!

Well another Monday and another summer day stuck inside at work! So instead of focusing on my job, I was daydreaming about the beach. You know, what every normal Long Islander does when they are stuck inside on a gorgeous day! (There is nothing more upsetting knowing you are 10 minutes from the beach but not a chance of you actually getting there!)

So I came home and compiled all my Summer 2015 Beach Essentials!

Beach Essentials

The products I love to use before I actually head to the beach are:

1. Australian Gold Spray Gel Sunscreen with instant Bronzer and SPF 15

Why I love it: It protects me from the sun, gives me a little color before I even get to the sun, and while protecting me from the sun it still allows me to tan without getting burned! I tend to reapply a few times while there, since it is only SPF 15. But it smells AMAZING, tropical goodness, and doesn’t feel sticky!

2. Tresemme Perfectly (UN)Done Sea Salt Spray

Why I love it: I usually shower in the morning (even if I am going to the beach). So I will spray this in my damp hair, french braid it and I get the best beach waves. And if I am actually going to the beach, with this product in my hair I have noticed that the salt from the ocean doesn’t really affect my hair like it usually does, meaning I don’t get that crunchy tangled mess that happens when I go to the beach.

3. Coppertone Sport Sunscreen Stick SPF 55

Why I love it: I have two tattoos and I don’t want them to fade with the sun, so I tend to be extra careful with my sunscreen. I love that this is in a stick form so I don’t have to get it all over my hands, it allows me to evenly coat my tattoos without putting that amount of SPF everywhere else so I can still tan. I will also bring this to the beach as well and reapply because I am paranoid haha! I will also use the stick for my face, tops of my ears and tops of my feet if I am feeling that the sun is particularly strong that day.

The products I love to use while I am at the beach are:

4. A hair tie

Why I love it: Kinda self explanatory… Love it, more like need it desperately. I have a ton of these in every bag I own, there is usually two always around my wrist… You never want to be caught without one, especially at the beach with all that wind, sand and water!

5. Sunglasses

Why I love it: Also kinda self explanatory… But the ones in the pictures I got from H&M and they are aviators with that duo-chrome finish (so blueish-pinkish-greenish-purpleish color) and they are mirrored. I have been obsessed with these since I bought them and wearing them ever since! If you want to read more about them, check out my “Mini H&M Haul”!

6. Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Gloss in “A Wink of Pink”

Why I love it: Okay, if you’ve stopped by my blog any time within the last week you’ll know. But I love this because it adds a nice wash of color on my lips but also moisturizes them so you won’t have to worry about your chapstick melting. (I’ll usually throw on an SPF lip balm before I leave the house) If you want to know more about my thoughts on the new Baby Lips Lip Glosses check out my review on them!

The products I love to use when I get home from the beach are:

7. Simple Cleansing Micellar Water

Why I love it: Not only is it great for removing makeup on an everyday basis, but I love using a micellar water after spending the day on the beach with the sun, sand and salt water attacking your face. I will take some of this on two cotton rounds and wipe my face nice and clean! It is soooooo extremely gentle on the skin (and I have really sensitive skin) and it leaves your face feeling fresh and clean and moisturized after a long day of fun in the sun!

And finally,

8. My (knock off) tangled teaser

Why I love it: It is so great to use on wet (or dry) hair, it doesn’t rip, tear, or pull allowing you to get all that sand and salt water tangles out of your hair without breaking it! It’s just an amazing brush always. I highly recommend!

I hope you found this interesting and maybe a little helpful! Let me know if you think there’s something I am missing that I totally need! I would love to hear from you! Here’s to hoping we all get to the beach soon!

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo

Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Gloss Review!

Baby Lips Lip Gloss

If you saw my last post “Mini Target Haul” then you will know what today’s post is about! …or if you read the title of this post… Can you tell I just got off work? I sure can haha!

Now I paid $3.75 for this lovely product, I do not know if that is the actual price or if each retailer sells it for a different price (cause I thought they were supposed to be a little more that what I paid haha).

Baby Lips open

Now I believe there are 12 shades in total. So far, I just got the one (but I will absolutely be picking up at least one more) and I purchased No.10 A Wink of Pink Moisturizing Gloss. There are several different finishes, and I am not sure of the others but the moisturizing one is supposed to be like a lip balm and gloss in one.

Baby Lips swatch

And so far, I would have to agree with the title. It’s not sticky at all, like some glosses, and I don’t feel the need to put on a lip balm before hand. Like the name suggests, it doesn’t add a lot of color but a nice subtle wash of pink. In the packaging it looks like it has a ridiculous amount of shimmer. I am not one for shimmer. And this does not add a ridiculous amount of shimmer to your lips, it distributes the shimmer evenly and very lightly. And like the original Baby Lips products, it smells amazing and very fruity.

This the perfect summer product for your lips. Especially the moisturizing one because you can skip the lip balm all in one and not have to worry about it melting in your bag! The packaging is super adorable and takes up no space at all, a nice light fruity product to throw in your beach bag!

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo

Mini Target Haul!

Guess who went shopping again?! If you guessed me, you would be correct!

Target Haul

Like all Target trips, it starts out with going to pick up one or two items and walking out with half the store. This time, Target spared my poor broke soul and I wound up with 5 items and spending $30!

Let’s start off with what I wanted to pick up that inspired the trip. For $5 each, two pairs of underwear, they are so soft and had so many choices to choose from, no matter your style or preference you can find something to love.

And since I was around the undergarments I was naturally looking at bras. I’m very picky when it comes to bras and for $9.99, how could I say no? This claims to be “the perfect t-shirt bra” and let me tell you, it is; t-shirts lay so nicely over this bra and it is also just as soft and comfortable to wear! And like the underwear, there were so many patterns and options to choose from. (I think this was the purchase that surprised me the most and made it all worth it.)

Next, I ended up in the accessories (I would say a dangerous section to be in, but to be honest all of Target is dangerous for me to be in). Nothing really grabbed my attention until I got to the clearance section and I found that perfect, adorable cat print wallet. It is a card holder with a strap that snaps to keep them in place, and a zip top to hold a little cash and coins. For $4.88 how could I possibly say no to taking that home with me?? Seriously how? Look at it!

Cat Wallet

But what I was most thrilled and excited for was a long awaited makeup product. The new launch of Maybelline’s Baby Lips Lip Gloss. This has been released for a couple of weeks and believe me when I say I have been to so many stores and it was near impossible to find. The past week I’ve seen the displays but no products. And the lovely Target never lets me down! This color is in “Wink of Pink” I absolutely love it, but I am not going to talk about this too much now because on Friday I will have a full review!

Baby Lips Lip Gloss

So there’s my mini haul! I could spend hours in Target, it is without a doubt one of my favorite stores. I hope your week is going well! Come back soon!

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo

Summer Concerts!

Now even though I really hate summer, there is nothing quite like summer nights and summer concerts. And that is exactly where I was this weekend! One of my good friends from college came down to Long Island and her, my Mom and I went to my favorite summer concert of all time.

This concert has been happening for about 10 years, they have been coming to one of the theatres of my town for about those 10 years and my Mom and I have been at every single show.

Fab Faux Marquee

The Fab Faux. Also commonly known as the loves of my life. These five very well known musicians come together when they aren’t working with their main gigs and become the greatest Beatles cover band this world has ever had the pleasure of listening to.

Fab Faux Program

I cannot describe how amazing these people are. How passionate they are about The Beatles and how they will do nothing short of perfection to give respect to their heros. If you ever get the chance to see them live, listen to their covers, or look them up, I promise you will not be sorry.

Every year, when I get to see them, it finally feels like summer. :)

So that is what I did this weekend, I hope you have a wonderful weekend as well! Have a wonderful week,

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo

It’s Friday!!!

I don’t know what it was about this week but it’s been a struggle to say the least. And I found myself doing things I don’t normally do, while at first I was confused as to why I even started to do these things (because they are not something I would normally do) by Thursday it began to make sense.

I just felt off this week, unmotivated and stuck; which led to me having migraines and not eating. So to cope with it I did the following things to focus on instead of me not doing to well and it actually helped and maybe it could help you too!

~Drank a ton of water!

I am always dehydrated because I am horrible at taking care of myself. Drinking a lot of water constantly throughout the day helped with my migraines.

~Baked oatmeal cookies from scratch!

Now, people who know me well, know how much I don’t like desserts and sweets. Also how I enjoy cooking but not baking (clearly because it took two tries to even get make the cookies). But something came over me this week and I just wanted oatmeal cookies and wanted to bake! So I did, and the house smelled so good and they are a nice treat to have after a long shift at my job haha!

~Make a list of things that need to get done and actually do them!

I have a friend coming over on Saturday and spending the weekend at my house (we’re going to a concert Saturday night, but I won’t go into too much detail cause you can read all about it on Monday!) But on my day off yesterday I woke up early and started to cross off the things on my list as I did them, it was a lot of cleaning as well as getting some resume stuff done. But at the end of the day I felt great that I am I prepared for my friend to come spend the weekend and got all of these things done!

~Wake up early! (Yes, even on your day off)

Now this may seem silly but for me this is a big deal, especially with that list that I had to get done yesterday! I like to sleep and I am not good at going to bed “on time” so I tend to oversleep and hit the snooze a lot. Waking up early, no surprise here, gives you more time to get things done during the day, and for someone like me I tend to do something on my list and take a break. So waking up early and giving myself enough time in the day to get everything done allows me to take a break and not rush to get everything done.

These few things may not seem like much, but when I am having a bad week and want to try to do something to turn it around, I find myself doing a multitude of things to focus on instead of feeling down.

I hope this gives you some new things to try when you’re struggling to get through the week! Let me know what you like to do to try and turn your week around! And have a wonderful weekend!!

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo
