Last Minute Halloween Costume Ideas!!

Happy Friday everyone!! Are you as excited as I am for Halloween??? It’s tomorrow!!! Oh my gosh, I can’t wait!

So I thought today I would share some ideas for last minute costumes that you probably already have in your closet!

First up: The classic, Mia Wallace from one of my favorite films Pulp Fiction!

Come on, this one is super easy, super recognizable, and we’ve all done it at least once haha!

All you need is…

White button down shirt

Black pants

Red nail polish (fingers and toes!)

Light brown eyeshadow, small cat flick, natural color lipstick leaning towards the brown side

And that’s it!!

Next up: Daria from the animated series on MTV

All you’ll need is,

Green jacket

Mustard colored shirt

Black skirt

Combat boots

And glasses

And finally some Disney inspired costume tips!

Right now, it’s pretty hip to be hipster, or have that hipster almost minimalist style, so why not bring it to Disney characters and be seen as hip and not too busy to plan a costume and spend time on it cause all of a sudden holy crap Halloween is tomorrow!

Basically my main tip is to stick to colors. For example, if you want to dress up as Belle, stick to powder blues with white accents and grab a book or for the ball, gold and yellows!

You can do that with pretty much anyone,  Aurora stick to Pinks, Tiana greens, Rapunzle purples!

You can also do that with other characters not just Disney! Iron Man? Reds and golds (also works for Gryffindor House), Hulk? Green on top, purple on the bottom!  Cap? That should be self explanatory… good old red white and blue!

I hope you found this helpful! Let me know if you are just as excited for Halloween as I am! And what you are dressing up as!!

Happy Halloween!!

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo

Underrated Makeup Brand!!

Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope your week is going well!

Today I wanted to talk about a makeup brand that I feel doesn’t get enough love in the Beauty Blogger world! It is talked about every now and again but I went shopping at Ulta with my Mom last Sunday and I picked up some products from this brand again and forgot how much I love them! So naturally, I had to share…

The brand I am talking about is “essence”! I think they are exclusively to Ulta, but they are such a fantastic brand! I picked up two of my favorites because I needed replacements but I have tried pretty much one of everything in their brand and I love them. Especially their prices, they are unbelievably cheap and because they are sold at Ulta they take coupons so it’s even cheaper!!!

I picked up their eyeliner pen (the waterproof version with the blue writing on it). Tati, from GlamLifeGuru also understands my love for this brand and I agree with her that their regular eyeliner pen isn’t the best. But waterproof is where it is at. So easy to apply, not a pain to get off, super pigmented, and stays put all day!

I also picked up their “Get Big! Lashes Volume Boost mascara”! They have a couple of others in this line (and a waterproof version) but this one has a curved brush and I find this one holds the curl the best! It’s super build-able, doesn’t flake and easy to take off!

But let’s talk about prices… Are you ready? You sure?

Eyeliner Pen Waterproof- $2.99

Get Big! Lashes Volume Boost- $3.99

HOW CAN YOU BEAT THOSE PRICES?? I wouldn’t even pass it up if they were mediocre products, but they aren’t!! They are just as good as your favorite drugstore brands!! So if you have an Ulta near by, run don’w walk! And I don’t know why we don’t hear as much about this brand! But I love them!

Have you tried “essence”? Do you like them? Any brands that you feel is underrated?? Let me know!

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo

Creatures of Habit!

Happy Monday everyone! Today, we’re finally getting back to Lifestyle Monday’s!

I wanted to talk about something that I attribute to keeping me mostly sane… Key word is mostly haha! And that is having a routine.

Now sometimes that word has a negative connotation to it, it could seem boring or safe or lackluster. But having a routine doesn’t mean that it stops you from your spontaneity or adventure. Because I am definitely not a “safe” person, I live for adventure and spontaneity. But on the other side of the same coin, I deal with a lot of anxiety, which I don’t want to stop me from finding adventure in the great wide somewhere or stop me from being spontaneous. I mean, we are creatures of habits!

It doesn’t have to be some crazy in bed by 9pm and up by 6am routine, especially when I work retail so my hours change daily. But my routines are super super simple and can be done no matter where I am, NY, school, London, etc. but it’s something that calms me down and gets rid of any anxiety that I may be feeling and isn’t based on a timeline (which I personally hate).

So here is what I do everyday when I get home at the end of the day, from work, running errands or pretty much anytime I come home haha!

~Put my keys, bag and anything I have on my chair in the wash room (my mom has one for her too haha)

~Take off my shoes and put them in the shoe closet

~Fill the kettle up with water and turn it on

~Go upstairs to the bathroom, take off my makeup and tie my hair up

~By this time the kettle has boiled so I make my tea

~Then, I will read, catchup on YouTube, catchup on Instagram and other social media until I’m done with my tea!

And that is my routine, I do this everyday, no matter what time I come home. It’s my cue to unwind and calm down from the day I had. But that is what I mean about having a routine that doesn’t require a specific time, especially when I come home at different times everyday so it is harder for me to have a set time. For example, my Mom has a time specific routine because she is home by the same time everyday (yay corporate America haha). And it’s simple enough that I can do wherever I am, when I am on vacation, or when I was at school, so I don’t have to break my routine, which can be detrimental sometimes.

I hope this helps you or makes you think about having a routine that isn’t your typical routine and changing the connotation this word has haha! What routines do you have, that you just don’t feel right if you don’t do it?

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo

Favorite Halloween Movies!!

Hi everyone! Happy Friday! Since ABC Family has started their 13 Nights of Halloween, you can best believe that is all I have been watching, so I thought I would share with you my all time favorite Halloween movies that I watch every year without a doubt! I absolutely love Halloween, it’s probably my favorite holiday there is!

~Hocus Pocus

~The Addams Family

~Sleepy Hollow

I will exclusively watch scary movies and horror films during Autumn but these five are the ones that if I don’t watch it doesn’t feel like Halloween or Autumn.

Do you guys have any Halloween movies that you have to watch?? Any movies that I need to watch?? Let me know!

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo

NYC Haul!!

Happy Wednesday everyone! If you read my post on Monday, then you know what this post is! Or if you read the title… I digress..

City Haul

I went to Sephora, H&M, and Topshop (for the event with Fleur!) all on 5th Ave and it was a wonderful day! Let’s start with Sephora!

BITE Agave Lip Mask

I picked up Bite’s Agave Lip Mask in the shade “Champagne”. It’s an all natural very thick lip mask with a rosy-gold-mauve tint, that you leave on. I’ve heard great reviews from Fleur De Force on YouTube, and I’ve only tried this once but I think it’s going to become a holy grail. It is a bit of a struggle to get out of the tube because of how thick the product is but it applies really nicely, heavy and a nice light tint of color. This also comes in a red and clear color as well. I think this would be great for the winter and I’m excited to keep trying this!

NARS Audacious Mascara

My next and final purchase from Sephora is new from Nars and something I’ve had my eye on since it came out! It’s their new “Audacious Mascara”, I’ve heard mixed reviews on it and it’s not too ridiculously expensive for a high end mascara so I decided why not. I’m always a bit skeptical for mascaras that aren’t waterproof, since it doesn’t hold a curl as well and my lashes grow straight. But so far, I am IN LOVE with this mascara. It’s super black, super volumizing, holds a curl, doesn’t flake, doesn’t smudge and super easy to take off. I hope it isn’t just something that I love now and after more consistent use it doesn’t hold up… I’ll keep you all posted haha!

We then went to H&M and I wasn’t planning on buying anything (cause I didn’t want to carry it to the event) but I couldn’t resist this phone case, I’m in love…H&M phone case

It’s just a simple plastic but looks like metal case with a fun design… Simple but I love it.

And finally,

The Glam Guide

This amazing book that I got from my event. I’m not going to say too much about it because I am going to do a full review on it, when I finish it and I already talked a little bit about it on Monday’s blog post, so you can check it out there!

And that is all I got from my trip to NYC!

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo

Fleur DeForce Topshop Event!!

Happy Monday everyone!! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, I absolutely did and it all started with an event of a lifetime. (I know that it is supposed to be LifeStyle Monday’s but I just had to share this event haha and we can kind of stretch this to lifestyle and inspiration… Just go with me on this)

I was lucky enough to receive a ticket to an event at Topshop on 5th Ave. in NYC with someone who I’ve followed and look up to since 2009, Fleur from the Youtube channel FleurDeForce. Anyone who has read my blogs knows how much I love and adore her, so this event was an actual dream come true.

Fleur and I

It was a free, ticketed event for two hours of champagne and fashion and selfies, what more could anyone ask for?! I met the loveliest people and before I knew it the two hours were up and the event was over.

Event table setting

Fleur and her husband Mike are doing a US tour for Fleur’s book “The Glam Guide” and this event was a last minute addition and it was so amazing. It was in TopShops personal shopping room, so it was filled with all “Fleur approved” picks, which you could then buy and shop her favorite pieces that she is wearing for her book signings.

Both Fleur and Mike are so sweet and so genuine, it really blew me away. Everyone they talked to, they were just so invested and kind, it was an absolute pleasure to spend time with them. Watching people on YouTube can feel like it’s easy to edit out the bad parts of your day or edit to make sure everything is “perfect” but after watching Fleur and Mike since 2009, they are the same sweet people you see on your computer. It was just a perfect night.

And because they are so sweet, for the first few people in the queue, Fleur brings gifts and at this event she gave out copies of her book (which she then graciously signed when you met her) and that just made the night even better, considering I haven’t bought it yet (they have been sold out everywhere I look!).

The Glam Guide

Look how pretty the book is! She put so much work, love and herself in this book and from skimming the sections, it is the most perfect and unique book. It has everything from the perfect smokey eye to making relationships last and how to boost your confidence. She is such a special, kind hearted, genuine, beautiful inside and out person and it was and honor to be able to talk to her. I aspire to not be her but be like her, she’s so confident, well spoken, genuine and talented. Since I’ve been watching her since I was 17, she always felt like an older sister who taught me about life and makeup, and I think it’s important to have someone like that in your life to teach you these things and it’s funny when certain people come in to your life when you need it most. And when I sit down and really read the book, you can expect a review to follow!! :)

If you haven’t checked her out on YouTube or her blog, I highly suggest you do! This event was a dream come true and its even more of a dream that I got invited and am able to share it with all of you! Stay tuned for a NYC Haul, because of course I had time to kill before the event so I had to go shopping!

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo

Lip Balm Loves List!

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you all had a marvelous week and are looking forward to the weekend! I know I am!

Today I wanted to talk about lip balm. Lip Balm, has been my number one addiction since I was a kid. Like my skin, my lips are super duper dry and are always chapped and cracked unless I have at least two lip balms in my bag or pocket at all times.

I’ve tried them all, the good, the bad, and the smelly. And I like to think I know a bit about them and with the colder weather fast approaching and dry lips coming back in to our nightmares, I figured I would let you guys know some of my favorite lip products to keep them looking their best!

I’m going to categorize them by “thrown in my bag”, “deep trouble”, “nighttime”, and “morning/under lipsticks and glosses”. There are many great lip balms out there and not so great ones but these I’ve found to be my failsafe products that I know will do the job that I need them to do!

So lets start off with “Thrown in My Bag”:

Thrown in My Bag Lip Balm

ChapStick Classic Medicated and Burt’s Bees Wild Cherry! These two are more than likely in my bag at all times, they are such failsafe products that I know will moisturize my lips and help protect them! And plus I love the scent/flavor of these, a menthol-y vanilla and cherry! These are probably my favorite tasting ones out of the ones I am going to talk about today haha!

Next up, “Nighttime”:

Nighttime Lip Balm

Blistex Lip Medex! This stuff I have been using every night before I go to bed, after I brush my teeth since I was about 10… This stuff is just amazing, a nice coat of this before bed and you’ll wake up with healthy perfect lips. It does have a heavy menthol scent but if you don’t like that scent, honestly it goes away and its so worth it.

Lets go to “Morning/Under Lipsticks”:

Morning Lip Balm

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Lip Therapy. Now I have to say that this used to always be in my handbag (and still is) but I tend to really reach for this product in the morning before I put on my other lip products for the day.  It just creates the perfect canvas for any lip product over it, it absorbs so quickly and leaves your lips feeling quite honestly, perfect.

And finally, let’s talk about what I use when I’m in “Deep Trouble”:

In Deep Trouble Vaseline

When I need something thicker and really protective and my lips are just in bad shape I will reach for this; Vaseline’s Lip Therapy Cocoa Butter (though the original is just perfect as well). It smells delicious and does a fantastic job at fixing my lips when they are beyond chapped and cracked. It adds such a thick layer of vaseline and coats them so nicely and protects them. In the winter this stuff is absolutely amazing, even though it’s in a pot and I don’t really enjoy sticking my finger in it, when my lips are that bad I tend to forget that it bothers me. And I can get over it when the product is this good.

And when my lips are basically falling off, I reach for:

In Deep Trouble Carmex

Carmex Cherry Lip Balm. Now this isn’t my favorite scent, I don’t know, Carmex just doesn’t do well for me in the scent department. But I can over look that when it does such an amazing job at making sure my lips don’t fall off.

This might seem like a lot, especially since most if not all of these will be in my bag at one time… But my lips get so so bad its unreal. And all of these products do exactly what they are going to say and I know they won’t make them worse, they will actually make them better and protect them in the future!

I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know if you love any of these products as much as I do, or let me know what your failsafe go to lip balm is!!

And keep an eye out for Monday’s post, which I am really excited for!! Its going to be all about an event that I am attending tonight!!

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo
