What’s On My Bookshelf!!

Happy Friday everyone!! I hope you had a great week and are excited for the weekend!! This weekend I’m not particularly keen on, but these books might help!

I recently picked up these books and I thought I would share them with you!

~”The Millionaire and the Bard” by Andrea Mays

(About the hunt for Shakespeare’s First Folio’s)

~300 Prompt Sketch Book

(Because I love sketching and drawing but never know what to sketch or draw haha)

~”Madame Bovary” by Gustave Flaubert

(Because I lost my other copy and wanted to read it again)

~”Anthem” by Ayn Rand

(Because I like her and haven’t read this since high school)

What books are you loving/reading at the moment??

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo

New Mascara… And I Love It!!

Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope you all survived the snow storm Jonas!

Today I want to talk about a new mascara I purchased and have been trying for a few days now!

It is by Dior and it’s their, Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Waterproof Mascara in 091 (black).

This mascara is so lovely and dare I say amazing. It adds such volume and length and HOLDS A CURL!! My two biggest issues with mascara is that they don’t hold a curl long enough for my annoyingly straight lashes and they don’t add enough volume. But this mascara ticks off both of those boxes and makes me extremely happy. And as if I didn’t love it enough, it comes off so easy! Easy enough that you don’t really need a waterproof makeup remover. This is just pure magic.

I haven’t really found a high end mascara that really impresses me enough to rave or even think of repurchasing, but now I can’t say that anymore. This mascara is perfect for me!! And for a Dior/high end mascara it isn’t too badly priced, I believe it was around $28.50 (I have definitely paid more and have been disappointed haha).

If you like volume (and build able to spidery if wanted or just very prettily fanned out), waterproof, curled, wet formula mascaras than if you can get your hands on this, I would highly recommend.

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo

Late to the Party… But New Favorite Lippy!!

Happy Friday everyone!! I hope you are all excited for the weekend and if you’re in the North East ready for our blizzard!

Today I want to talk about the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick. I know, I know, bad beauty blogger. For some reason I just never seemed too interested in it even though there was so much hype around it. But I watched a video of a Sephora haul, saw this color they put it on, I then got sad and went on Sephora and my idea of how to cheer me up was to order it.

So here we are and I’m in love…

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick.jpg

This beauty is “Lolita II”. I am not only in love with the color but the formula. For some reason her line tends to be hit and miss with people, you either love it and love everything or you are just not a fan. I’ve liked her products but always had something else on my list to get at Sephora but I gave in, and boy am I glad I did.

It’s such a beautiful color, terra-cotta browny nude orangey-pink your lips but better brown. I wasn’t too sure of it but it is so super flattering on. A good way to jump on that 90s fashion trend without going too brown, cause as much as I would love to I just couldn’t pull of Urban Decay’s “1993” matte lipstick with my skin tone :(.

So besides the color, lets talk formula. I’ve heard that these formulas are super drying but stay put. I actually think so many other formulas are more drying than this. But it is light as a feather, so super pigmented, goes on perfectly with one swipe, super forgiving and once it sets in 30 seconds or so it is not going anywhere. I ate, drank and this sucker was perfect. I even forgot I was wearing anything until my Mom commented on it haha!

And now I need every shade…

I hope you all have a lovely weekend,

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo

Elizabeth Arden Review!!

Happy Wednesday everyone!! I hope you are all doing well, it’s been quite some time since we last spoke but I’m glad you’re here!

Today I wanted to talk about some amazing products that I have had the pleasure of trying out and falling in love with.

Now everyone knows about the infamous Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream and lip treatment, and I agree that it works miracles but their actual makeup is also pretty amazing!

Elizabeth Arden

All of this is so amazing and I don’t know where to start but lets go left to right.

This eyeshadow quad called Natural Nudes 01 and I am not one for eyeshadows or shimmery eyeshadows but these are gorgeous and super subtle. Definitely not an everyday thing for me (I wish I did do the whole eyeshadow thing everyday, I envy anyone who can, its a lot of work and very time consuming with all that blending haha! I oversleep too much to be blending out eyeshadow when I barely have time to make my winged liner match) but let me tell you these are so nice and have been my go to when I don’t oversleep and have time to actually do my makeup!

Next is this gorgeous rose-y shade of lipstick that is aptly named No.17 Rose. For a creamy lipstick that has what looks like shimmer in it, it is surprisingly long lasting and almost matte! I wore this for an entire work day and didn’t have to touch it up once. I had my lunch, drank water, it was pretty incredible. And a different take on the “nude” lipsticks that I have been so obsessed with… So like it’s an actual rose nude not a brown or mauve… That’s growth right??

And finally another makeup product that I don’t normally use but really love this for when I have time for it in the morning! That product believe it or not is foundation. This is the Flawless Finish Perfectly Nude Sheer Foundation, which I wear in the shade 06 Warm Sunbeige. With SPF 15, it is a light to medium coverage foundation and is so light and build-able. I like it because it covers my redness and evens out my skin tone just enough, and feels lightweight and looks like my skin. It is really easy to blend in and looks great applied with a brush, beauty blender, or fingers (I’ve tried them all haha).

There is always a lot of love shown to Elizabeth Arden for all of her amazing 8 Hour products and skin care but I don’t see much on her makeup; maybe there is and I just haven’t seen it. But I really love her makeup line and her skin care haha!

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo

Best Concealer!!

Happy Friday everyone!! I know that the title of this post is a very big claim but this really is the best concealer I have ever used! And it is not the NARS concealer… Controversial I know… Just go with it!

Urband Decay Naked Skin Concealer

This is the Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer. I have it in the shade Light Neutral and it is perfect.

It really does everything it says it does. It doesn’t crease, doesn’t move and is a liquid without the caked on feeling. As I was blending it in the first time I used it I was amazed because it almost turned into a powder, it wasn’t wet, wasn’t thick and didn’t have to dry.

Seriously amazing. I’ve had no problem with creases or fading or hiding my dark circles. I think I might have found my holy grail concealer!!

Have you guys tried this?? What’s your holy grail concealer??

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo

Spending the Rest of My Sephora Gift Cards!

Happy Wednesday everyone!!

Last of the Sephora Gift Cards

Another week goes by and another trip to Sephora to spend the rest of my gift cards that I got for Christmas.

Gift Card

So we are going to start off with the things that I wanted to get while I was at Sephora! A repurchase of their Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover, my absolute favorite! And then two things that I have had my eye on and have kept meaning to pickup. The Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer in the shade Light Neutral, and the Nailsinc Gel Effect polish in the shade Porchester Square (which is a lovely shade of lilac gray).

…and then the isle of doom got me…

Gift Card Isle of Doom

The first thing I found was the Benefit Real Tempting Threesome pack, which as a full size They’re Real Push-Up Liner and a mini They’re Real Mascara and a They’re Real Makeup Remover. And then a set from First Aid Beauty, which I adore. It’s a very generous size, if not full size, of their Face Cleanser and a few of their exfoliating pads for only $10!!

And now, that’s enough Sephora for at least a week or two haha!

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo

December Favorites!!

Happy Friday everyone and a very Happy New Year!! I hope you all had a lovely New Years Eve! Since I have been working a minimum of 80 hours this December, there hasn’t been many days where I was able to really experiment and try new things.

But these few products have really saved my butt this month and really do their job, favorites is understatement haha!

December Favorites

Let’s start with some makeup favorites!

First up is the Clinique Moisturizing Lotion. I love Clinique, especially because it’s really great for sensitive skin and any allergies. So for me I know that any products from Clinique will not only work but I won’t have any reactions with. And this moisturizer is absolutely amazing. My store that I work in is a super dry atmosphere and for someone like me who has super dry skin to begin with, doesn’t help haha! But this moisturizer is amazing and has saved my skin this winter!

My next and last makeup favorite this month is from Bite Beauty. It’s their Agave Lip Mask in the shade Champagne! I’ve raved about this before but it has saved my behind this month! Because of the super dry store I work in, this seems to be the only lip product that actually not only prevents my lips from splitting but heals the parts of my lips that have split. As well as adding a nice mauvey-pink light shimmer, which is perfect for work (when I want something on my lips but they are so bad lipstick won’t sit on them nicely)!

I oddly have two hair favorites this month!

First is that black clip that I got from CVS in college. I have such thick long hair that putting it up is a nightmare. But for somer reason this clip holds all my hair like it is no big deal. It’s wonderful.

And then there is that adorable little gold star barrette! We all know how much I love stars, so already it’s a win. But I got this in Arden Rose’s Subscription Box (which is amazing by the way) and I’m obsessed!

And finally my FitBit!

My Mom and I got each other FitBit’s for Christmas (we couldn’t wait until Christmas to use them) and it’s really helped me know how I sleep, how much sleep I actually get, how much water I drink, how many steps I take and how many miles I walk. It’s really cool and the app is also really cool allowing you to challenge friends!

Those are all my favorites this month! I hope you are all having a great start to your New Year and I hope the New Year brings you good health and happiness! I’m really looking forward to what the New Year brings and the projects that I have been planning starting to come together!

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo
