Top Five Things To De-Stress!!

Happy Wednesday everyone!! I hope you are all enjoying your week!

Today, I have been in the city all week for a seminar for my job. And let me tell you it’s been interesting to say the least haha! So I’ve been a bit busy and crazy and in the middle of buying a car and general life stress, which lead me to wanting to share my top 5 things to do when I am stressed and want to de-stress…

  1. Face Masks. The quickest way to instantly feel calmer and treat your skin. I neglect my skin a lot (at least I feel that way) and a face mask is a great way to give some extra lovin’ to your skin! Lately I have been obsessed with the Origins Charcoal Mask!
  2. Make a cup of tea and read a book. Nothing like escaping this world and jumping to another, especially if you are stressed!
  3. Clean. When I am stressed or anxious, the stuff I own starts to feel like its closing in on me, so I like to clean everything. Get rid of stuff I don’t need or use, get rid of the clutter that’s around me and usually it helps me breathe a bit easier.
  4. Watch a movie and crochet. If I am not in a movie theatre, I can never focus on the movie that is playing. If I’m at home watching a movie, I catch myself constantly reaching for my phone or getting up and walking around. So if I keep my hands busy it allows me to relax and focus on the movie that’s playing.
  5. Go to sleep early. I am definitely one of those people who when they get too stressed out I just go to sleep because it seems like the only thing I can do. But I’ve found that if I go to sleep early it makes my mind clearer and makes tackling the next day and the issues I’ve put off seem easier to conquer.

Those are some of the things that I love to do to calm myself down. Let me know if you do some of these things as well or if you have any other tips! (Stay tuned for my June Favorites on Friday!)

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo

New from Maybelline!!

Happy Friday everyone!! I hope you are all excited for the weekend, I know I am!

Today I wanted to talk about a new product from Maybelline, one that I am really excited about! Mostly because my small town never gets any of the new products and I was in CVS picking up some birthday cards for my best friend and boyfriend and they had so many new Maybelline products!!! It was like Christmas!

So far all their new launches for summer I have loved… So I have high hopes for this one!

This is their new “Color Jolt Intense Lip Paint” I bought the shade, 05 Stripped Down. I haven’t heard much about it but it is supposed to be an intense lip color with a demi matte finish. They have what looks like 7 different shades and it seems like it is a perfect lip product for summer.

It didn’t swatch great (sorry, I suck a swatches) but I tried it on and it was a really nice brown (pretty true to the color of the packaging). It smells amazing, almost mango-y and added a nice gloss to the lips but not too crazy glossy. And it really is an intense lip paint.

The color pay off was INCREDIBLE, it makes me really want to try the vibrant purple one…. Especially for summer… We’ll see haha!

From my first impressions, I would say if you’re looking for a new lip color or product for summer definitely give this a try!

Let me know if you found this product and picked it up! Do you like it? Do you hate it?

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo

Sephora Favorites Bronze Bares-All!!

Happy Wednesday everyone!! I hope your week is going well! We all know I am a fan of the Sephora Favorites kits. They are mostly great value for money. It costs $40 (depending on the kit) and this one has 8 products, 3 full size and 5 deluxe samples.

Clearly the “Bronze Bares-All” is perfect for summer because well, that is what it is aimed for haha! There is only one product I have tried before in this kit and I loved it and all of the other brands are top notch that everyone else seems to love. Personally, I have tried something from all of these brands (minus the Vita Liberata) and love the brands so I am excited to get my hands on all of these!

Starting with the full sizes:

BareMinerals – Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss in Trail Blazer. It is a beautiful peachy nude.

Smashbox Cosmetics – Always Sharp Waterproof Kohl Liner in Penny Lane. A gorgeous bronze liner that lasts all day.

Laura Mercier – Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Copper. I love these eyeshadows, they are super easy to use and super long lasting.

On to the deluxe sizes:

Vita Liberata Ltd. – pHenomenal 2-3 Week Tinted Tan Mousse in Medium. I have heard great things about this brand and never have faked tanned before, so I’m excited to try!

Becca Cosmetics – Shimmering Skin Perfector in Pressed Opal. Once again everyone raves about this and excited to have my hands on it!

NARS Cosmetics – Bronzing Powder in Laguna. A cult classic that I finally have a good enough reason to try!

Tarte – Amazonian Butter Lipstick in Park Avenue Princess. I’ve tried it on and so far this formula is fantastic!

Formula X – The Colors Nail Polish in Revved up in Rose Gold Metallic. I love these polishes and this one looks absolutely stunning!

I think these are a great way and semi affordable way to try some new brands and products! And I am very excited to try them all out! Have you tried any?? Are any of these your favorite products?? Let me know!

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo

My New Lip Obsession!!

Happy Friday everyone!! I hope you’re excited for the weekend! Today I wanted to talk about something I have heard a few people talk about but finally I got my hands on it!

We all know my lip issues and how dry and gross they can get haha! I’m always on the hunt for the best products that aren’t going to break the bank (that much at least) and actually work for saving my lips.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Intensive Lip Balm

This is the First Aid Beauty “Ultra Repair Intensive Lip Balm”. ┬áIt’s $20 and so far it is worth every penny. It weirdly smells like toothpaste… Minty in a good way. If you’re not a fan of menthol then you might not enjoy this. But this is just the most amazing lip balm that I have tried in a long time. It is a nice thick balm that absorbs really quickly.

It leaves your lips feeling soft and really helps them heal. Even in the summer my lips still think that it is winter and so far this stuff has been helping an immense amount.

I give this a huge thumbs up and I think that I have found my new go to lip product!

Let me know if you’ve tried this or have any other great lip remedies!

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo

Summer Nail Colors!!

Happy Wednesday everyone!! I hope you are all having a lovely week!

Today I wanted to talk about my top three nail polishes that I have been wearing and loving non stop! And that I think will be absolutely perfect for summer!!

Summer Nail Colors

From left to right we have:

Porchester Square by NailsInc

Samoan Sand by OPI

Mayfair Lane by NailsInc

These brands are some of my absolute favorites. And the NailsInc Gel Effect polishes, I think, are my favorite formula that I have tried. The colors are gorgeous, they last extremely well, doesn’t take too long to dry and they don’t need a lot of coats to be opaque!

So we have a gorgeous lilac grey, a nude light beige and a light pink! I know I know, it’s weird not to see a black in there… I just haven’t found a formula of a black polish that I have liked as much as getting a black gel manicure. Weird, but there it is.

Anyway, that’s it for today! What are your summer go to nail colors?? Mine are all pretty neutral but all of these colors are (I think) so pretty!

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo

Ulta Haul!!

Happy Friday everyone!! I know, I know, “Amy, you just posted a haul!!” Well, I hate to tell you, but I have a shopping problem, so another haul it is!

Ulta Haul Spring 2016

But it’s from Ulta so that makes it different right??

Ulta Haul 2016

Okay, so maybe it doesn’t justify it but this was all stuff that I wanted to pick up for my trip to Staunton Virginia for a Shakespeare Conference that I was going to… And I may have gotten carried away. Don’t judge.

OPI Samoan Sand.jpg

This was the main reason I was going to Ulta… I wanted a summer color that was natural but not pink. I ended up with this beauty called “Samoan Sand” by OPI. I really love it, it’s a nice light beige that looks natural and chic and lasted beautifully for my weekend conference. And even when it did chip because I can’t be trusted to be an adult, because it was so natural you couldn’t tell, which is a bonus haha!

Sally Hansen Cutlicle Rehab

Then I spotted this… It’s Sally Hansen Cuticle Rehab, and let me tell you I have the worst cuticles on the planet. I used to use another cuticle thing from Sally Hansen and wasn’t a fan, but this actually really helped. I’ve only been using it for a few days but I do see a difference and they are starting to look halfway decent!

Tarte Glossy Lip Paint Double Tap

Now this is just something that I have wanted and my local Sephora has been out of stock! This is the Tarte “Tarteist Glossy Lip Paint” in the shade “Double Tap”. And let me tell you, I’m in love. It’s a gloss but when the gloss fades you are left with this gorgeous stain that stays, even when you eat and drink. It’s a gorgeous nude-pink-brown, so right up my alley. And I think it’s really great for summer, not drying at all and definitely something that has stayed in my handbag and something I know I can slap on and not worry about it.

Urban Decay Mini Naked Skin Concealer

And then, I got distracted and had to… It’s a travel size of the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer that I am obsessed with in the shade “Light Neutral” which finally suits my skin tone! We all know how much I love this, and I justified it because I was about to travel… And I mean, look how cute this is!!!

And that is everything I picked up from Ulta!! I hope you have a lovely weekend,

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo

New Maybelline Mascara!!

Happy Wednesday everyone!! I hope your week is going well! Today I want to talk about a new mascara launch from Maybelline!

Now, you all know (hopefully by now at least haha) that Maybelline is my favorite drugstore brand and especially their mascaras. I personally, think that they are the best and a great price!

So of course when I saw this new one, I was super excited. When I saw the aim and what this mascara was supposed to be, I was even more excited.

It’s their “The Colossal Spider Effect Volume Express” mascara.

Maybelline Spider Effect.jpg

Of course I have the waterproof version and in black. This mascara has everything that I could think of that I love. And who doesn’t love the original “Colossal” mascara?? I am all about that spidery effect on my lashes, I love super volume and clumpy. And this mascara does just that. If you’re not super into that 60s spidery look than this might not be for you. But it’s right up my street with the volume of the original Colossal!

It wears super well, doesn’t smudge or flake on me. But what is really cool about this new mascara is the brush.

Maybelline Spider Effect Wand

I think L’Oreal has one (the Butterfly Sculpt, I believe) but I haven’t tried it, even though I have heard good things. I just couldn’t part from my Maybelline Lash Sensational Luscious, which is another one of my favorites. But I think for summer this is perfect. The wand adds so much volume and clumpy-ness that I love for summer, allowing me to just load up on mascara and get away with no liner (you know, in case of water). Plus in the summer I don’t like to spend too much time on my makeup, I’d rather be at the beach reading!

So if you like spidery voluminized lashes like me, than this is without a doubt for you!

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo
