Favorite Eye Cream!!

Happy Monday everyone!! Today I wanted to talk about an eye cream that I have been absolutely loving!!

This is the Clinique Pep-Start Eye Cream. And I love it!

The problem I have, and I’m sure a lot of us have, is that with eye cream you can never tell if it is working because eye cream is a gradual process and nothing works over night.

This eye cream, I have noticed a difference after a day of use. My eyes and under eye area looked so much brighter and lively. I apply a small amount on my ring finger and then pat it in under my eye. Almost instantly my eyes look brighter and less puffy!

I have been using this eye cream consistently for a month or so now and I really enjoy it. It doesn’t feel greasy, sinks in quickly and because it’s Clinique I’m not allergic to it and it’s affordable, an eye cream that works for about $27! I’ve spent way more on eye cream and have seen no results.

I’ve always been conscious of my under eye area, always dull and dark circles plus my fear of wrinkles. So when I was able to see actual results after use, I am even more confident to use this. I have even gone so much as gone out without makeup on, which I’ve done, but gone out with friends (a situation where I would at least put on concealer/ and mascara) without any make up on. And honestly I think that was the most amazing confidence boost and could not be happier.

And that’s all she wrote! If you’re going out this halloween weekend stay safe and have fun! Next time we meet we’ll be discussing my October favorites! I am also going to go back to my Wednesday/Friday posting schedule. So I will see all of your beautiful faces on Wednesday!!

Until next time,

Cheers! x0x0

Trying Out Glossier Products!!

Happy Wednesday everyone!! I am super excited about today’s post because I finally was able to get my hands on a bunch of products from Glossier!!!!! A brand that has so much hype for being a blend of skincare and makeup, with makeup that has lovely natural finishes and all good things in it! So let’s hop right in!

I purchased their famous Balm Dot Com, but their mint version of it. I also purchased their Phase 2 Set (phase 1 is their best selling skin care, phase 2 is makeup), which includes their Stretch Concealer, Boy Brow and Generation G Sheer Matte Lipstick.

All of their products, at least in my opinion, are famous. And from all the hype this brand has and all the love it receives I was so excited to get my package and try it all! And now that I have been using it for a few days, I am hooked. Absolutely hooked. The makeup is such a natural finish and the Balm Dot Com is fantastic. And it’s all extremely affordable.

This is their universal skin salve, that you can use on any dry patches you may have. Their original is unscented and comes in a pink packaging but I went with the mint one because I absolutely adore mint and with the winter months I won’t be using this on my hands as much as I would be using it on my lips. They have I believe four different scents. And I am obsessed with this, it’s amazing.

The makeup in the Phase 2 Set I got was the Stretch Concealer in the shade Light 10, their Boy Brown in the shade Brown, and their Generation G Sheer Matte Lipstick in the shade Cake. The concealer is a perfect match, extremely light weight super creamy (I recommend setting it) and gives a night light coverage. Which to my surprise I LOVE that it’s a light coverage, it does just enough to make me looked polished and fresh and extremely natural while covering my dark under eyes just enough. Their Boy Brow is also an extremely great color match and a great brow gel that I have just been using on its own. And their lipstick I AM IN LOVE. It adds such a nice flush of color in a gorgeous brown nude shade that adds and acts like a stain of color.

It’s no surprise that I am in love with every single product I purchased. It gives you the most put together look without looking made up. I don’t wear a lot of makeup to begin with so all of these products are right up my street. If you are able to or have been thinking about trying them, I HIGHLY recommend it. I’m obsessed, I’m hooked and I’m so happy that I finally made this purchase!

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo

Ulta Mini Haul!!

Happy Monday all! I hope you had a great weekend! I went to Ulta last week with my Momma and we had a grand old time! I was able to control myself (surprisingly I know) my Mom, on the other hand, went crazy! Her haul would have been more interesting…

But sadly she doesn’t have a blog so you’re stuck with mine haha! :)

I picked up an old favorite (since mine is had it’s time) which is the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion Anti-Aging… Because I’ve been paranoid all more lately about preventive skin care. If this actually helps or not who knows but it’s a great product regardless. I also like this one because it has a doe foot applicator so you don’t have to get your fingers dirty.

Then I picked up some exciting things (I think at least) from a brand everyone knows and loves but I have yet to try… I know I know, I’m really behind and a bad beauty blogger haha!

I picked up the Lorac Pro Matte Lip Color in the shade Tawny. It’s a beautiful brown shade with a lovely scent of vanilla that goes on so creamy and pigmented and has a really nice wear time considering it’s only a lipstick.

I then picked up the Lorac Pro Pocket Pro of three of their eyeshadows. And oh my goodness these three colors are just up my street and they are gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous. I can see why everyone has gone crazy about their products. They are so buttery, blend like a dream, incredibly pigmented and long wearing. I was silly not to trust all the beauty gurus with how pigmented they are because boy oh boy did I take too much on my brush when I was applying it haha! But they blend so well I was able to rectify the situation after some heavy blending!

And that’s it! Sadly I hate to tell ya I told you so but I told you my Mom’s haul would have been better! I can’t believe that it has taken me so long to try Lorac Pro products! Let me know your favorite brands are so I can make sure I’m not missing anything good!

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo

Traveling Makeup Tricks and Tips!!

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you all had a lovely week and are ready for whatever the weekend has in store!

Last week I went to South Carolina and as I am currently writing this I am in the airport getting ready to head home looking out from these floor to ceiling windows onto the runway. It’s quite relaxing, especially considering the last time I was in this airport.

So with that being said I want to talk again about some great makeup tips and tricks that I have learned/done to make packing easier when you are only taking a carryon. And plus, I love looking at what other people pack in their travel makeup bag!

Before we start, small disclaimer. Some of these things (eyeliner, mascara, liquid lip, concealer, eye cream and stuff like that) were put in a zip lock bag to be taken out for TSA since they are “liquids”. This also doesn’t include shampoo/ conditioner/ body wash/ face wash and things of that nature! I tried to keep this strictly beauty!

So let’s start with skin care!!

Gold Bond Ultimate Healing Cream ~ I use this mainly for my hands. I have dry skin to begin with and with cabin air and flying makes my skin ridiculously more dry. So this is a must.

Clinique Pep Start Eye Cream ~ I just started using this and I LOVE IT. This is the first eye cream that I have used that I have noticed a notable difference in my under eyes when it comes to puffiness (great for all the change in pressure when flying) and my under eye bags. So it’s a decent size and made sure I made room for this guy!

Nivea Creme ~ Once again, my dry skin is just a nuisance, so this one I brought for my legs, arms, etc. you get it.

Dionis Lip Balm ~ The flavor of this is Peach, it’s heavenly. I picked up this and the matching hand cream at a Cracker Barrel on the way home from Canada a couple of weeks ago. And so far I really love this brand and product!

Batiste Dry Shampoo ~ In the scent Blush. I love this dry shampoo and it comes in a lovely travel size. And I don’t think I need to go into why dry shampoo is a god send… I think we all know.

Now makeup!!

Laura Mercier ~ Translucent Powder in the shade Universal. Now this product I feel is a love / hate thing. A lot of people don’t like it and feel that it leaves a white residue on your skin. For me it doesn’t do that at all, I really like this product. I’ve had it for a while (3 months to be exact, it was my last post before my little hiatus) and use it every day that I wear makeup. I think it does a great job at setting my under eye concealer. At lot of people prefer her loose setting powder which I have yet to try. But for me, because I’m so pale, this works very well.

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer ~ In the shade Light 2 Vanilla. We all know I love this concealer. I found a mini of it in the aisle of doom before I left for South Carolina and I had to get it. Come on, don’t judge, are you telling me you could pass up that adorably sized concealer that is one of the best concealers on the high end market? Yeah, I didn’t think so. I don’t wear foundation but this concealer has amazing coverage and lasts all day. It’s a great shade match for me so I can use it under my eyes and can cover up any redness I may have or any spots.

Alright, now with the eyes section of this post we get into some of my real tips and tricks haha!

Covergirl Lash Blast ~ A cult classic, in waterproof of course, as well as the shade blackest black. I really am an advocate of waterproof mascara as you all know, but I always recommend going for the blackest black, even if you have really dark lashes already like me. It adds a deeper color and I think it really does make a difference. My trick with this is to get a mascara that you can build up how you like. This one for me can get clumpy (which I like) and with a few thousand coats I can just use this for an eye look instead of using eyeliner.

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner ~ In the shade Trooper. My favorite eyeliner on the high end. I prefer this brush to the Ink Liner which is more of a felt tip. But they are both just as good, just as pigmented, just as long wearing the only difference is the brush! This goes without saying but with this you can create a really nice dramatic look as well as a day look. You can do a cat flick, full on wing, or just line the eyes. Right there you have three looks with one simple product that doesn’t take up a lot of space.

Clinique High Impact Custom Kajal ~ I can’t remember the exact name of this product but it’s Black Brown (or something to that effect). It’s their new liner that I got a month or so ago. I never bring an eye shadow palette or eyeshadow crayon or anything like that when I travel. And the reason being is that I don’t like to bring a lot of brushes with me, because frankly I can never figure out how to store all of them properly and they take up a lot of space. So with this type of liner, you can tight line , line your water line, line your eye, line your eye and smudge it out with your finger or you can do a real smokey eye and go all over the lid and blend it out.

And with these three products I am able to get so many looks out of them for whatever mood I feel like that day and they don’t take up too much space and I don’t feel like I’m limited with my eye looks!

The next are all products I probably didn’t need to bring, but they were all new and I couldn’t leave them home!!

Make Up For Ever Aqua Lip ~ In the shade 3C. I love this pencil, it’s super creamy lasts all day and they have such an AMAZING shade range its ridiculous. This is a lovely nude more towards a brown-y pink shade. So right up my alley. I love this because I could wear it alone (which I usually do) or under another lip product I brought since this shade is very close to my natural lip color.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream ~ In the shade London. Everyone loves this product, including myself. We all know of this product and we all know how amazing the shade range is as well as how lovely they smell. So that’s all I am going to say about that.

Clinique Pop Matte Lip Color ~ In the shade Blushing Pop. Let me just say, I LOVE THESE> The shade range is incredible, the formula is amazing, it lasts an incredibly long time considering it is only a lipstick, the packaging is to die for it’s so small and compact, and the pigmentation is phenomenal. This is their nude shade and I love it because it is leaning towards the brown side. Definitely go to a counter and try them out!!

Chanel Perfume ~ Coco Mademoiselle. I first wore this to my first trip to South Carolina, so this scent will forever be attached to Charleston. All meaning I had to bring it, also it is literally the perfect size for travel.

Real Techniques Beauty Sponge ~ I must say, I like this one a lot more that I like the actual Beauty Blender… And it’s is so much more affordable. I love the way this makes my concealer look and how effortlessly it makes my makeup look.

Bobbi Brown Pencil Sharpener ~ Only because I brought my lip liner from Make Up For Ever. But I chose this one because it’s really tiny and doesn’t take up much space. It is also a great sharpener, it gets my lip pencils to a really nice point!

E.L.F. Shader Brush ~ To help smudge and blending out my eyeliner. I love love love this brush for smudging out my eyeliner. The little smudgers that come on the end of eyeliners always end up taking off the product but with this brush it does such a great job of doing what I want my eyeliner to do.

E.L.F. Small Concealer Brush ~ I actually don’t use this brush for concealer. I use this for my powder, I have in the past used it for my concealer and it does a great job with that. But I really like this for powdering under my eyes, it fits perfectly and distributes the perfect amount of powder.

Surratt Beauty Relevée Lash Curler ~ If you saw Wednesday’s post you will know how much I love this tool. And if you have learned anything about me from this blog you know I cannot live nor will not live without an eye lash curler.

And finally…

Lancôme Bi- Facil Double Action Makeup Remover ~ In the most adorable travel size you ever did see. I really love this for taking off my eye makeup. It does an incredible job at taking off waterproof mascara as well as liner. Big thumbs up!

Yes To Cucumbers Hypoallergenic Facial Wipes ~ Not only do they smell amazing but they do a nice job of taking off any excess makeup (after I have washed my face) and leaves my skin feeling clean and refreshed.

And that is everything! Phew! I know that was a lot but if you read all they way to the end, thank you because that was a lot to read and I wouldn’t blame anyone for just looking at the pictures.

I hope this helped / was interesting! I like to think that I have learned a few things about packing and traveling in my day and I am always one to pack light.

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo

The Best Eye Lash Curler!!

Hi Everyone! Happy Wednesday! I hope your week is going well!

Today, I wanted to talk about an eyelash curler that has changed my life, which I didn’t think that an eyelash curler could…

This little beauty is the Surratt Beauty Relevée Lash Curler. It costs $30 and can be bought at Sephora or Sephora.com. And it looks like every other eyelash curler on the market.

I know $30 is a lot to spend on an eyelash curler, but my goodness I did not know what I was missing.

I have had my old eyelash curler for about 6 or 7 years (don’t worry, I would change the sponge thing and clean it constantly) until it died on me; like the handle broke completely, it was a mess and so was I. It was (I believe) a Revlon eyelash curler that I got at CVS. It was cheap, did what it was supposed to do, how little I knew…

So I was browsing on the Sephora app, and came across the Surratt Beauty Relevée Lash Curler. I have heard a lot of beauty guru’s talk about this curler and how it changed their life. And I have to admit I laughed when they would make such bold claims, because all eyelash curlers are shaped the same and do the same thing!

Wrong. I was wrong. This eyelash curler opens wider, doesn’t pinch your lashes, makes them actually curl. And as crazy as it seems, my lashes hold this curl from this curler all day. No matter what mascara I put on or how much of it I put on it holds its curl. If you have been reading my blog for a while you will know my constant struggle with my lashes holding a curl because of the heaviness of my lashes and how they grow straight down.

So in end, was it expensive? Yes. Do I think it’s worth it? Yes. And when you find something that works exactly how you would expect it to and more and makes your little insecurities about yourself go away, I very much think it’s worth the price. Also considering I’ve spent more money than $30 on a beauty product.

And that’s all I’ve got for today!

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo

Where Have I Been???

Hi Everyone!! (I haven’t said that in a while…) I hope you are all having a great Monday!

If you’re a regular on my blog you might have noticed that it has been three months since I’ve last posted on my site. If you’re not a regular on my blog and it’s your first time here then this post might be a  bit weird…

My life in the past three months have been busy and really rough. And I let one of the things that I have absolutely loved and enjoyed every minute of slip by. I sincerely apologize to you and myself for that. This blog has been something that means a lot to me since graduating college.

I know I don’t have to get in to why I have been gone so long, but I wanted to put a reason into the blog for a couple of reasons. One of the reasons is mainly for myself, this blog I have been working on practically sine I graduated college and it’s a nice timeline for me to look back on good and bad. And because anyone who reads my blog, writes a comment, likes a post I love very much and I feel that you deserve an explanation.

So without further ado, let’s get in to some life chat…

Life doesn’t always go as planned, and I like to think of myself as someone who is pretty laid back and goes with the flow. But lately life has thrown some interesting stuff at me and I can proudly say that not only was I able to handle it and known when I had to leave it. With that being said it has left me in some unknown territory and forcing me to start my career.

Let’s start back in May, I was a sales associate at Macy’s and I got offered the Fine Jewelry Business Manager position. I gladly accepted even though I told my boss I didn’t know how much longer I would be with the company (for  grad school stuff, more on that later). My boss didn’t care about that and wanted me in the job for as long as I was here. It started off fun, same amount of hours, dealing more with the associates and A TON of schedule edits. But it was all good until it wasn’t. I started to ignore everything else but this job that had absolutely NOTHING to do with my degree, what I wanted to do or added any value to my life.

I hated it, to be fair I always did, but it started to become a point where I didn’t just hate the job, I hated myself.

Around August, I realized that all of a sudden, all of my thoughts were about this stupid job that I didn’t care about. But I did. I don’t know why I did, I hated everything and everyone about it. I wasn’t happy because I wasn’t doing anything of substance. I wasn’t creating anything, I stopped writing, I stopped my blog, I stopped painting, I stopped trying to get in to grad school, I stopped trying to get head shots, all because this job was literally taking up every second of my life.

Then came my vacation in September. I had a week off from this place (something I have not had in a year and a half of working there). And I went to Montréal Canada with my Mom and I hadn’t been this happy in a very long time. To a point where my Mom pointed it out to me at dinner on the first night there. It was then where I decided that the first thing I would do when I got back to work on Monday was put my two weeks in.

And that is exactly what I did. It has been a week and two days since I last stepped foot into that place. And while it’s been absolutely wonderful, as I received my last paycheck from there today (being last Friday for you) a little bit of panic set it.

I didn’t have a back up job when I quit. Didn’t have a plan. Didn’t have a clue. But the only thing I knew to be sure was I had to get out of there and I had to get out of there before the Holiday season started because if I thought I had no time now, I would really have no time then. To be fair I still don’t have a plan or a clue, but I’m so happy.

But it doesn’t matter. None of it matters if you’re not happy. The fear of the unknown is so much better than looking in the mirror and hating everything you are and have become. I became everything I said I wasn’t going to do. I took a job I hated and knew would hate because of money. I gave up everything I am and was for this job. But I don’t regret it. Weird thing to say I know but I learned that I am stronger than I thought I was and I know when I need to leave a bad situation, which is something I think about a lot. I have always been afraid that I would get stuck in a relationship, job, situation, you name it really. Because I was too afraid.

I put my mental health and happiness first. Which to be quite honest is something I haven’t done for myself, in a long time if ever.

I’m a scaredy cat. So by not having a plan by just up and quitting I’m forcing myself to start my career. Because I could have totally seen myself staying there and just jumping from stupid job to stupid job for the rest of my life. And that thought I can’t even begin to describe how that feels, but horrific doesn’t do it justice.

So I’m back, I’m back with my blog, I’m back painting, I’m back creating stuff, I’m back trying to figure out grad school, I’m setting up head shot appointments.

And I’m finally starting my life. A year and a half later. I’m uncomfortable. I’m scared. But I’m back. And I love it.

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo
