How I Handle A Busy Schedule!!

Happy Friday everyone!! I hope your week is going great! Today my mind is ALL over the place so I thought I would share what has been keeping me sane whist being in a show that opens a week from yesterday, working another job, writing these posts and all that fun social stuff that makes living paycheck to paycheck a bit more bearable.

How I Stay Sane

Basically, it’s my bullet journal. I didn’t realize how much I used it until I thought I left it at one of my rehearsals (when in reality it was in my car and fell out of my bag). I completely panicked.

I’m a list person. I write to do lists for the day, the week, the month. I like schedules and when I am working and performing and writing posts here and elsewhere, I need to have my day scheduled down to the minute. I know that might seem a bit much but there are only so many hours in a day and too much that I need to get done.

A typical day that includes work and rehearsal looks like this:

Work ~ 7-3:30
Home ~ 3:35-5:30
-Change Clothes
-Take Pictures for Blog
-Go Over Lines
Drive to Rehearsal ~ 5:30-6:30
-Go Over Lines in Car
Rehearsal~ 7-10
-Get there at 6:30, stretch, go over blocking
Drive Home~ 10-11
-Go Over Lines in Car
Home~ 11
-Make Tea
-Write Blog Posts (or at least outlines depending on the day of the week)
Get Ready for Bed~ 11:45

On the days I do not have work, it will usually be spent on doing laundry, cleaning, writing and scheduling a bunch of blog posts.

But yeah, I’m the type of person who needs to write things down so my bullet journal is my lifeline. It also is a place where I can sketch and write notes from rehearsal down, plan blog posts and future layouts.

And that is what keeps me sane! Having one place where I keep everything makes me breathe just a bit easier; mostly because I know I won’t forget anything or be late to anything because I have it all day to day written down!

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo

October 2017 Ipsy Bag!!

Happy Wednesday everyone!! I hope you are all having a great week so far! Today, I wanted to share with you what I got in my October Ipsy bag, and I can already tell that I absolutely love it… so let’s jump in shall we?

October 2017 Ipsy Bag

First up we have this gorgeous light, lilac gray nailpolish in the shade “Lava” from the brand NailMedic, which is a charcoal infused nail polish that is supposed to protect against toxins and pollutants as well as restore my nails. It’s also a vegan nail polish and cruelty free! I’m really looking forward to trying this one out!

Next up from JMSolutions we have their Water Luminous Jelly Cleanser that is supposed to be deep cleaning and has hyaluronic acid in it. It sounds like it’s right up my alley and I am always down to try new skincare and keep my skin looking and feeling it’s best!

Makeup wise this month I got…

This little cute macaroon shaped lip balm from CuteBalms in the flavor vanilla! Which is just so super cute. I’m super picky when it comes to lip balms so I don’t know how well I will get along with this. It feels and smells like this might be something that kinda makes your chapped lips worse but looks and feels nice on. And if you don’t like sickly sweet vanilla you might not like this. It smells super strong and super artificial vanilla (which some people absolutely LOVE). And hey I don’t blame you if you do!

I also got a mini of the itCosmetics BYE BYE PORES pressed powder! Which I am super excited to try; because we all know how much I love itCosmetics and I have yet to give this a go! It’s a translucent powder as well that is supposed to be anti-aging and give you an airbrushed affect. And I can’t wait to use it to set my makeup and tattoo coverup makeup in Richard III!

And finally a LOVELY size of the Urban Decay 27/7Glide On Eye Pencil in the shade Perversion!! I loveeeee this eyeliner Urban Decay is just the best! And I was so excited to get one this month! I’m about 3/4s of the way done with my full size and now I have an adorable back up!

October Ipsy bags are my favorite because it’s always adorably Halloween themed and it makes me super happy! And this years bag is a gorgeous maroon colored lace bag with a cute bat as the zipper pull!

What did you guys get in your bags??

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo

Drunk Shakespeare!!

Happy Friday everyone!! I know, it’s been a while since Fiction Friday’s and the majority of my Fiction Friday’s are Shakespeare themed… But I’m going to blame that on the fact that I spend four of my seven nights of the week rehearsing Richard III.

And this weeks post you can blame on this wonderful guy I’ve been so lucky to be seeing. Last Friday, he took me to see “Drunk Shakespeare” in the city and it was one of the best thing I have ever seen in the city.

Drunk Shakespeare

If you have never heard of “Drunk Shakespeare” it’s probably exactly what you think it is. Basically an ensemble pick a Shakespeare show to do and an actor to take six shots of tequila (and they end up drinking more throughout the show) and perform. As an audience member when you walk in you are handed a shot, which is exactly how I want to be greeted when I walk into a room. You of course can order drinks throughout the show, they also have food but we stuck to the drinks.

And yeah, basically you watch a Shakespeare play while drunk and some of the actors drunk and drinking.

But let me tell you; THEY ARE PHENOMENAL. When we went they did Macbeth, which c’mon so great. And they blew me away. They summed up a lot of the play, made it more topical with some Trump jokes but every important monologue and soliloquy were left in and done so well. I was incredibly impressed and would love nothing more than to join this cast haha!

If you are near or in the city and want to have a great laugh, or love Shakespeare and a good drink then run do not walk to see this! We enjoyed it so much we’re thinking of going again to see them do a different play (they switch it up!).

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo

New Mascara Love!!

Happy Wednesday everyone!! I hope you are all having a great week so far! It’s been quite a while since I have had a mascara favorite on this blog and its been a quite a while since I wore mascara but I found one so of course, I had to share!

it Cosmetics Mascara

Yup, that’s right, that is the brush you see! This wonderful tiny product is from it Cosmetics a brand that I adore, and this is their “Tightline” mascara in the waterproof version in the shade black! And I love it.

Now, we all know I am a big fan of big plastic brushes that give insane amount of volume and spidery looking lashes. And believe it or not I can get that with that tiny tiny wand! Their 3-in-1 mascara acts as a primer, eyeliner, and mascara. Because of how small the brush is, you are supposed to be able to get so close to the lash line that it looks like eyeliner. And I would agree because of how much control you have over the brush and how precise it is.

Believe it or not, I am able to get my lashes looking like I like with about 3 coats! But if you like to wear little to no makeup but want your eyes to look more awake this mascara is for you!  It’s so natural looking and so easily build-able! And the waterproof version, which is the one I bought, comes off super easy at the end of the day and DOES NOT BUDGE. I had no flakes or smudges whatsoever.

So if you are looking for a versatile mascara that takes up zero space in your makeup bag look no further! This took the place of my mascaras that I have to do different things because of how easy it is to buildup or leave natural. Plus, I absolutely adore the brand!

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo

Why You Should Perform Shakespeare!!

Happy Friday everyone!! I hope your week is going well! I am three weeks (from last night) from my opening night of Richard III and I thought yesterday, while sitting in the rehearsal how much I love and how important Shakespeare is. And shocker, I wanted to talk about it haha!

I honestly believe that everyone should perform at least once in their life and I think they should especially perform or work on a Shakespeare play at least once in their life. And I thought I should tell you why I think that!

~The Importance of Words.
Shakespeare is extremely deliberate and meticulous. There is no punctuation, word, letter, entrance, exit or cue that he did not specifically put in for some reason, be it silly or not. Not only his use of words as language but as direction as well. His use of words to tell the story, he is so careful of what word he puts and where.
And I think we can all learn something from Shakespeare about the importance of words and how picking the right one is something that should not be taken lightly.

~The Importance of Work.
Shakespeare is challenging. There’s no doubt about it. It’s hard; it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to make sense of what you are saying. To define all the words, to find synonyms for those words so that you can understand what he is saying, it takes copious amounts of work. But the reward is huge. Never have I ever felt more proud, exhilarated, exhausted (physically and mentally), drained, triumphant and victorious than I do when I work on Shakespeare. He has a way to beat you down and then build you up because he gives you everything you need in the words. He does all the work for you, when you put in your time. Shakespeare isn’t easy; but he’s so worthwhile.

I could keep writing but I fear that like Shakespeare, you’ll stop reading. But I urge you with all my heart to find a play or a sonnet and read some of his work and to push yourself a step further and try to perform it, even if for yourself in front of your mirror. You won’t be sorry.

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo

P.s. If you have read this far, thank you and high five and a big hug to you! But if you have any book recommendations please let me know! I’m looking for some more to read!! Thanks!!

A Dream Concert!!

Happy Wednesday everyone!! I hope you are all having a great week! Today, I thought I would share with you all a concert I went to this past Sunday that was a dream come true!

I was lucky enough to be able to get tickets to Ed Sheeran’s concert in Brooklyn for his “Divide” tour and it was a dream come true. I have loved his music since his first album like so many people and not only is he an incredible artist but he is an incredible performer.

Ed Sheeran 2017

I’ve been very fortunate to attend a lot of concerts and last Sunday definitely made it to the top two. Not only did he sound AMAZING, but it’s just him on stage which is the mark of a true artist. His ability to transform his songs right then and there in front of hundreds of people is incredible. He was able to add harmonies and riff longer, play his guitar a bit differently but still sound like the album was and is an amazing thing to experience.

What was also incredible to be a part of, is how not only were there TONS of screams and cheers, everyone was singing along with him. And when I mean everyone, I mean everyone. It was amazing to be a part of that, I haven’t experienced a concert where every single person sang along perfectly. It was so great.

The entire time I was in awe and singing my heart out. It was a fantastic concert and I feel so incredibly lucky to have been able to be apart of that tour and at that night with that crowd all singing Ed’s songs for two hours.

So thank you Ed Sheeran, for your music, your transparency on stage, and the obvious joy and passion and love that you have for what you do. It radiates off of you and I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to see you perform.

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo
