Make Your Own Magic with Ohana Performing Arts!!

Happy Friday everyone!! I’m super excited because tomorrow Saturday, January 20th is another performance with the incredible Ohana Performing Arts! And I wanted to talk to you guys about it! Oooo another sneaky self promotion…

Make Your Own Magic with OPAC

My last performance with Ohana Performing Arts was Broadway With a Twist and this one is Make Your Own Magic and we are singing some of your beloved Disney Broadway songs! So you know I was all over that audition and couldn’t wait to get started.

This is my second show with this amazing company and they have become some of my greatest friends and I am so honored and lucky to not only be friends with them but also work with them and create not only some amazing art but a true community filled with support and encouragement something that is very much lacking in the theatre community on Long Island.

So our show is tomorrow at 8pm and if you’re on Long Island and need something fun to do tomorrow night well call that number and reserve your ticket!

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo

January Ipsy Bag!!

Happy Wednesday everyone!! I hope you are all well! Today, I thought I would start sharing what I got in my Ipsy bag this month! So let’s jump right in!

January 2018 Ipsy Bag

The theme this month is “Game Face” with a nice almost sneaker like design and feel but with really great products that I’m genuinely excited about! (The last two months I wasn’t thrilled and ended giving most of the products up/throwing them out.)

First up we have an eyeshadow from “Absolute New York” in the shade AEAS12 V.I.P. which is this gorgeous gold bronze shade, you know my go to eye look haha! I’ve never heard of this brand but it’s cruelty free and I really like the packaging! Usually with Ipsy most eyeshadows come as single pans and no case and as someone who doesn’t have a pallet of her own they become very hard to store and end up not getting used. So I’m loving the packaging.

Next up we have a kajal eyeliner from the brand Vasanti in the shade “Intense Black”. A nice creamy liner that really is an intense black. Though the full name is “Kajal Waterline Eyeliner” so I’m assuming it’s meant to stay on the waterline, which would be lovely and I can’t wait to put to the test as we all know I am all about eyeliner!

Then from NYX we have one of their Lip Lingerie in the shade “07 Satin Ribbon” which is a nice cool toned light nude (which is the whole point of the line). I’ve tried these before and really loved the shade I had, which was “Honeymoon” and a nice gray toned nude. They’re really comfortable and pretty long lasting!

I then got, an exfoliant lip scrub called “Lipgasm” from the brand Trust Fund Beauty, that is vegan and cruelty free which is awesome. And I do love my lip scrub from Lush but with my dragon skin I’m always looking for new scrubs!

Finally we have the “Gold Lust Dry Shampoo” from Oribe, which I am super excited to try because I keep hearing such amazing things from this brand but I can never bring myself to buy anything from them because of their high price tag. So I can’t wait to give this a go especially because we all know that the majority of the time I am more dry shampoo than human.

And that is everything that I got this month in my Ipsy bag! I’m really thrilled this month and I hope they keep it up! Cause they’re is nothing better than getting new beauty products every month!

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo

Fiction Friday ~ The Actor’s Life A Survival Guide!!

Happy Fiction Friday everyone!! I hope you are all doing well! This week’s Fiction Friday is going to be not technically fiction but a fantastic book if you are an actor like myself.

The Actor's Life A Survival Guide Jenna Fischer

This absolutely incredible book by Jenna Fischer (the incredible Pam Beesley from The Office) her book The Actor’s Life A Survival Guide is a phenomenal book if you are an actor and looking for someone to be honest with you about the struggle to become a working actor and the rewards that come with it.

At this point in my life and my career this hard truth and honest look at myself, what I want, and my business is exactly what I need. Even with Jenna Fischer’s funny anecdotes and humorous tone, she dishes out some serious tough love and if you are serious about becoming an actor it’s exactly what you need to hear.

Nothing is sugar coated whatsoever. Sharing her life as an actor this guide really is a guide. She tells you about headshots and agents and auditions and stuff about the business that no one really tells you until it’s too late.

If you are an actor or want to be an actor I highly recommend this book. No acting book I’ve ever read has been this funny, honest, clever, heartbreaking and 100% without a doubt inspiring. When I finished it, I have never been more excited to jump head first into this business and really start working.

So I absolutely recommend this book. And thank you Jenna for being one of the few people who are honest and encouraging about this lovely, horrible, stressful, fulfilling business.

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo

RMS Beauty!!

Happy Wednesday guys!! I hope you had a great weekend and a great week so far! Today I want to talk about RMS Beauty and the two products I picked up from Sephora, so let’s jump right in!!

RMS Beauty

RMS is known for their natural good for you ingredients as well as being cruelty free. They are really known for their concealers, but sadly my shade sold out. They also just launched a lipstick line that I am dying to get my hands on.

I picked up their “Lip and Skin Balm” in the flavor “Simply Vanilla” and I really like it, it’s a nice thick balm that really nourishes the skin. Though I don’t think vanilla is the right description… to me it kind of smells/tastes like play-dough and like I’m not hating on it at all, but it wasn’t what I expected. Overall I’m really enjoying it!

Then, I picked up their Volumizing Mascara, I was first interested in this product because of how skinny the product is, plus all of the organic ingredients. But look how cute the packaging is!! Anyway, I haven’t given this much of a go yet but so far it’s a nice mascara. Sadly it’s not waterproof so my lashes droop after awhile but overall it’s really nice!

Let me know if you have tried anything from RMS Beauty! Cause I’m looking for more stuff by them!

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo

2017 Beauty Favorites!!

Happy Friday everyone!! I hope you are all having a great week and if you’re in the North East that you are staying safe in the “Bomb Cyclone”!

Anyway, I thought I would share with you guys my top beauty favorites of the past year! So let’s jump right in!

2017 Beauty Faves

We have my beloved eyeliner from MAC in the shade “Coffee”, it’s a super dark brown that’s not too heavy, lasts all day and a great eyeliner pencil! Also lasts a long time because of how long MAC eyeliner pencils are haha!

A new discovery (I know, I know I’m late to the party) but it’s MACs Paint Pot in the shade “Groundwork” which is a great neutral tone that compliments every eye color. I got it for when I was performing in Annie Jr to add a little flair and it lasts all day and looked gorgeous!

An old favorite and repurchase of mine from Chanel, their Rouge Coco Ultra Hydrating Lip Colour in the shade “402 Adrienne” which is a stunning nude kinda brown just the right amount of pink shade. I never finish lipsticks but this one I have and had to keep in my collection.

Finally, the best product I’ve discovered this year. And it’s from the drugstore, it cost me $5! From NYX their “Dark Circle Concealer Corrector” in the shade “Light”, I’m telling you I have yet to find a better concealer. It’s super light weight, doesn’t crease lasts all day and corrects your under eye bags. I have never looked more awake. For shows I would put this on under my concealer but for day to day use when I’m not under stage lights, I just use this if I didn’t get enough sleep the night before. It’s the best find I found all year!

And those are all my standout products from 2017! Now, I am putting this year behind me and moving forward!

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo

Jumping In To 2018!!

Happy Wednesday guys! I hope you are all doing so super well! I know it’s been a while since I’ve last written but I’m back!

I stopped writing because of how busy I got with doing Richard III and Annie Jr (I booked another show yay!!) but I found myself feeling like something was missing and I realized it was this. I love writing and I love this blog but I couldn’t find a time to sit down and write. But I promised myself this year I will put this blog first because I love it and all of you reading.

I hope you had a great holiday season and a great New Years Eve! So many things have changed in the last few months it has been INSANE! I became a paid actor (YAY!) I’ve met the most amazing people with the most incredible Theatre Company and I started a new relationship with honestly the best person on the planet and I have never been this happy.

So 2018 is looking like one of the best years yet! And I hope you feel the same way too! Stay tuned for more content from me and the same two posts a week on Wednesday and Friday!

I love you guys and can’t wait to see where this year takes us!

Until next time,

How I Handle A Busy Schedule!!

Happy Friday everyone!! I hope your week is going great! Today my mind is ALL over the place so I thought I would share what has been keeping me sane whist being in a show that opens a week from yesterday, working another job, writing these posts and all that fun social stuff that makes living paycheck to paycheck a bit more bearable.

How I Stay Sane

Basically, it’s my bullet journal. I didn’t realize how much I used it until I thought I left it at one of my rehearsals (when in reality it was in my car and fell out of my bag). I completely panicked.

I’m a list person. I write to do lists for the day, the week, the month. I like schedules and when I am working and performing and writing posts here and elsewhere, I need to have my day scheduled down to the minute. I know that might seem a bit much but there are only so many hours in a day and too much that I need to get done.

A typical day that includes work and rehearsal looks like this:

Work ~ 7-3:30
Home ~ 3:35-5:30
-Change Clothes
-Eat
-Take Pictures for Blog
-Go Over Lines
Drive to Rehearsal ~ 5:30-6:30
-Go Over Lines in Car
Rehearsal~ 7-10
-Get there at 6:30, stretch, go over blocking
Drive Home~ 10-11
-Go Over Lines in Car
Home~ 11
-Make Tea
-Write Blog Posts (or at least outlines depending on the day of the week)
Get Ready for Bed~ 11:45

On the days I do not have work, it will usually be spent on doing laundry, cleaning, writing and scheduling a bunch of blog posts.

But yeah, I’m the type of person who needs to write things down so my bullet journal is my lifeline. It also is a place where I can sketch and write notes from rehearsal down, plan blog posts and future layouts.

And that is what keeps me sane! Having one place where I keep everything makes me breathe just a bit easier; mostly because I know I won’t forget anything or be late to anything because I have it all day to day written down!

Until next time,

Cheers! xoxo
